Siam Bangkok Church History
Siam Bangkok Church was established because of God’s call on Pastor Sangwien’s family to establish a church, so they split from Bangkok Liberty Church. In that time it was called, Moobanseri Church. It originally started from a small cell group about 6-7 people in 1933. It started in the living room of a small town house in Preecha Village in August. The church was filled with people and no seats were available so the church had to rent a meeting hall in the Alexander hotel for worship on Sundays. The church used this hotel for many years.
After that God blessed the church to rent an office in Seri village 1.  The church now had an office, the hall of prayer, disciples, and rooms for English ministry and a residence for the pastor. The church was self sufficient and prosperous from the beginning. But when an economy crisis occurred in Thailand the church was affected and the brothers and sisters in Christ had to move their residence. Some went abroad, some went to their home town, some moved to work in another place and it made the church unable to rent the hotel. The church had to move back to use the office. After that, in the year 2004, the owner of the house where we rented the office also faced a financial crisis, so they had to sell the house and cancel our rental agreement. The church had to find a new place to rent so they rented the building that we are currently using. Our church is currently extending and we are planning to buy the land. The owner will make a purchasing agreement with us soon.
God blessed the church to prosper and grow. We now have 2 worship services on Sunday, a Thai service in the morning and an English service in the evening. The church sees the importance of using the English language as a tool to evangelize and we also desire for our church members to be able to minister and communicate internationally.
Siam Bangkok Church has emphasized on disciple from the beginning and we have a lot of the people who volunteer to serve God. We evangelize and follow up through the young people who have received discipleship here and have dedicated their lives to God in full time service and some part time volunteer service. These young people joined the ministry of the church and now evangelize the Good News of Jesus Christ to the people in university, college, schools, prisons, jail, detention house and various communities around Bangkok. It is called Siam Dream Center. www.siamdc.org
